So, continue reading to find out how you can manage to keep your hair beautiful and healthy even if you have to wash your hair with hard water.
In order to minimise the damaged caused due to hard water, add some vinegar to hard water before taking a bath. You need to add 3 cups of vinegar to 9 cups of water. Vinegar contains cleaning properties so it cleans scalp and removes build-up.
Adding lemon juice to your bathing water is yet another way of fixing the damage caused due to hard water. You need to add one cup of lemon juice to three cups of water. Mix lemon juice properly and use this water to wash your hair. Lemon being acidic in nature will help to prevent hair build-ups.
Rain water is very soft and mineral free hence it can be used for washing hair. Mix 2 cups of rain water to 3 cups of rain water, this will neutralize the effect of hard water on hair. Also, you need to boil the rain water and cool it completely before using it.
Bottled water or spring water can cut down the effect of hard water, thus preventing damage to your scalp and hair. Simply rinse your hair with some bottled water as soon as you wash your hair with hard water. This idea might seem expensive but it works well.
Argan oil treatment
After washing your hair with hard water, apply some argan oil on your hair to soothe it. Hard water can leave your hair dry and frizzy so applying argan oil will tame down the frizz. You can alternatively mix few drops of argan oil with your shampoo or use it as a leave-in conditioner.
